Tribhuvan University (TU), Office of the Dean, has opened applications for the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Scholarship Program. The deadline for submission is October 1, 2024 (Ashoj 15, 2081).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to Master’s students from the 2079 BS batch enrolled in the third or fourth semester at Central Departments or Constituent Campuses of TU.
- Students must be eligible to begin their Master’s dissertation in their subject/discipline.
- Students who have received partial scholarships from UGC, NAST, or other government institutions are eligible only with a No Objection Letter (NOL) from those agencies.
Application Process:
- Applicants must submit a research proposal in the prescribed format (detailed below).
- Proposals will be checked for plagiarism using iThenticate software, and the similarity index must be below 15% (excluding references and quotes).
Selection Procedure:
- First Stage: The CAS Fellowship will be awarded to students whose proposals are approved by the CDRC.
- Second Stage: Student performance, based on SGPA from previous semesters, will be considered. In case of a tie, grades from previous degrees (B.Sc., Plus Two) will be used.
Each Central Department’s CDRC will recommend one candidate for the CAS Scholarship. The Head of Department (HoD) will forward the selected candidate’s details, including the proposal, plagiarism report, grade sheets, and transcripts, to the Institute of Science and Technology (IoST), TU.
