GREAT Scholarships offer nine scholarships from UK universities for students from Nepal across various subjects. Each scholarship is valued at a minimum of £10,000, which goes towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate program.
The scholarships are jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council, in collaboration with participating UK higher education institutions.
For the 2021-22 academic year, scholarships are available at the following universities:
- Cranfield University
- Teesside University
- University of East Anglia
- University of Edinburgh
- University of Essex
- University of Northampton
- University of York
- University of Manchester
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for a GREAT Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of Nepal.
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies for entry into a UK postgraduate (taught) program.
- Be motivated and academically capable of completing a UK postgraduate course.
- Have relevant work experience or a demonstrated interest in the subject area.
- Meet the English language proficiency requirements of the chosen UK university.
- Be committed to fully engaging in the UK Higher Education experience, including attending lectures, participating in extra-curricular activities, and acting as an ambassador for UK education.
- Show a willingness to build personal and academic connections with the UK.
- Uphold the values of the GREAT brand by becoming a scholarship advocate.
- Be open to attending a networking event for all UK-based GREAT scholars to share experiences and insights.
